What is Restylane® Defyne?
This hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler is used to fill in nasolabial folds, improve the appearance of marionette lines and other mild to moderate facial lines and wrinkles, and restore volume to the lower face and mouth areas. Defyne® is designed to improve the visible signs of aging while allowing you to maintain your natural appearance and facial expressions. This injectable filler is thicker than its counterpart, Refyne®, and is used to improve the appearance of more severe signs of aging.
Restylane® Defyne is injected with a fine needle directly beneath the skin of the treatment area. Injection sessions can take between 15 and 30 minutes depending on the area being treated and the patient’s desired results. Multiple treatment sessions may be required in order to achieve desired aesthetic results.
This is a minimally-invasive aesthetic treatment, and there is minimal downtime associated with Defyne® injections. Defyne® is formulated with lidocaine to reduce any discomfort patients may experience during an injection session, and at the patient’s request, a topical numbing cream can be applied prior to an injection session in order to further reduce discomfort.
Some patients may experience some mild swelling, redness, bruising or discomfort at the injections site. These side effects are temporary and should subside within a few days of an injection session.
As we age, our skin loses elasticity and the lines that run from the sides of the nose toward the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds) and the lines that run from the corners of your mouth toward the chin (marionette lines) become more pronounced. Restylane Defyne is crafted with XpresHAn TechnologyTM to correct these deepened lines.3 The unique cross-linking of the gel in Restylane Defyne is also designed to help support your facial expressions for natural-looking results that help maintain your natural movement.

Restylane® Defyne is indicated for injection into the mid-to-deep dermis for correction of moderate to severe, deep facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds) in patients over the age of 21.
Restylane® Defyne is a sterile, biodegradable, viscoelastic, non-pyrogenic, clear, colorless, and homogeneous soft hyaluronic acid gel with a high lifting capacity. The product has a sodium hyaluronate concentration of 20 mg/mL in phosphate buffered saline at pH 7 and contains 3 mg/mL lidocaine hydrochloride.
