CARMEN A. TRAYWICK, MD, FAAD
Dr. Traywick is a graduate of Emory University Medical School in Atlanta, Georgia where she trained with some of the pioneers in the field of cosmetic Dermatology. She completed her Internship and Dermatology Residency at Emory University School of Medicine. She is a board-certified Dermatologist who specializes in medical Dermatology, but has a unique talent and passion for non-surgical cosmetic procedures. In addition to Co-Owning LUX～A Medical Spa, Dr. Traywick is the owner of May River Dermatology, a very successful dermatology practice with five offices located in South Carolina and Georgia.
After 12 years of training in Atlanta, GA, Dr. Traywick moved to the Lowcountry to open May River Dermatology in 2009. After opening the very successful Dermatology practice, she founded LUX ~ A Medical Spa in 2013 to bring her knowledge of the most up to date non-invasive cosmetic treatments to The Low Country. Her goal is to provide each patient with an improved, but still very natural appearance. With her vast knowledge of Dermatology, she helps the LUX Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Aestheticians choose the appropriate cosmetic treatments for each patient including laser, chemical peels, injections and medical grade skin care products. She is also the creator of Lumen skin care products which can be tailored to fit the needs of each type of skin using the highest quality ingredients.
From 2011-2022, Dr. Traywick has been awarded “Best Dermatologist” by Bluffton Today readers. In 2015, 2016, 2021, and 2022 Dr. Traywick was voted “Favorite Dermatologist” by Hilton Head Monthly readers.
When Dr. Traywick is not fulfilling her professional passion, she is at home with her three daughters and husband, Bernie, three dogs (Toro, Trooper and Rey), and cat (Roxy).
