What is a BBL™ Laser Therapy?

This non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment uses broadband light technology to treat a wide variety of skin conditions, including sun damage, acne, and visible signs of age. This treatment uses controlled pulses of light to improve the appearance freckles, superficial veins, wrinkles, and sun damage. With each BBL™ photo rejuvenation treatment, patients will see a noticeable improvement in the tone and texture of their skin.

• Chest

What can I expect during a treatment session?

About 45 minutes prior to your treatment session, we will apply a topical numbing cream to the designated treatment area to reduce any discomfort that may be experienced during a treatment session. We will provide you with protective eyewear to use for the duration of your treatment and will apply a cool gel to the treated area. During your BBL laser treatment, you may experience a slight stinging sensation, similar to a small rubber band snapping. Treatment sessions can last anywhere from 20 minutes to 30 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. There is little to no downtime associated with this treatment and most patients are able to return to their daily routines immediately following a treatment session.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments required can vary from patient to patient depending on the condition being treated, the size of the treatment area, and desired results of treatment. We typically recommend a series of two to five treatment sessions spaced about four to eight weeks apart in order to achieve optimal results. Some patients may require additional treatments in order to achieve their desired results.

Are there any side effects?

You may experience some redness and tenderness in the treated area, similar to a mild sunburn, for 24 to 48 hours after a treatment session. Cold compresses and Aloe Vera can be applied to the treated area to reduce any discomfort associated with this side effect and soothe the skin. Depending on your skin type, you may experience redness in the treated area for three to five days following a treatment session. This is a temporary side effect and typically resolves on its own without treatment.
